Master data consists of basic information (e.g., description and price, discount agreements, names and addresses, start date, etc.) about business-relevant objects (such as products, suppliers, customers, and employees) that is required for ongoing (e.g., periodic) processing. It is therefore also referred to as static data, basic data, or reference data. Both master data and order-specific transaction data are required to process an order in the LIMS.
