Graphical User Interface(graphical user interface): A graphical user interface is a software component that allows the user of a computer to interact with the machine using graphical symbols. The displays and elements (workstation, icons, recycle bin, menu) can usually be controlled using a pointing device such as a mouse. In the field of software ergonomics, the terms "graphical user interface" or "human-machine interface" are used instead. Across the board, GUIs have replaced the character-based user interfaces CLI (command line interface).
