GUI

Graphical User Interface(GUI): A graphical user interface is a software component that allows a computer user to interact with the machine via graphical symbols. The displays and elements (desktop, icons, recycle bin, menu) can usually be controlled using a pointing device such as a mouse. In the field of software ergonomics, the terms “graphical user interface” or “human-machine interface” are used instead. In general, GUIs have replaced character-based user interfaces such as the CLI (command line interface).
