Service-Oriented Architecture(SOA): SOA is a concept for designing software architecture with the goal of providing program functionalities (services) via a standardized interface, thereby supporting distributed data processing across system boundaries. By combining “services” that are distributed and available independently, business processes can be mapped without requiring the necessary functionality to reside in a single program. SOA is often implemented via web services using the SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) standard.
