QR (Quick Response) codes are 2D codes that can be scanned and read by cell phones, smartphones, and tablets, and can contain web addresses, phone numbers, text messages, and plain text. They can also be used to label samples, equipment, sampling points, workstations, and similar items. Thanks to automatic error correction, this method is very robust: the loss of up to 30% of the code is tolerated, meaning the code can still be decoded even then.
