Electronic Laboratory Notebook(ELN): An IT system designed to support the conduct of experiments or complex investigations. Its functionality often covers planning steps, documentation of the experiment’s execution and results, as well as data analysis. In some cases, ELNs are also used for IT-driven processing of procedures defined, for example, via an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).
