Transaction data

Transaction data is information that - unlike master data - changes quickly over time. For example, the sample designations and target dates are different for each new laboratory order from a customer. The customer data is master data, the sample data is transaction data and must therefore be re-entered in the LIMS for each new order. There is also the concept of inventory data (e.g. stock of open orders or invoices). Once processing is complete, the data can be deleted or archived (archive data).
