Audit Trail

Audit Trail: The audit trail function in data systems, such as LIMS, ensures the traceability of data entries by recording changes. This logs any changes or deletions to data—potentially across multiple levels—by recording the original state prior to the respective change, including additional identifiers such as the user ID, date and time of the change, or a reason for the change.
