Developing efficient catalysts is time-consuming and costly. Until now, a major obstacle to the urgently needed data-driven research has been the lack of standardized, machine-readable data formats. With the new NOMAD Catalysis App, the NFDI consortium FAIRmat now offers a solution for collecting and sharing experimental data in a standardized way and making it available for AI-driven research.
The Catalysis app bridges the gap between manual experimentation and automated data analysis. It provides the necessary infrastructure to transform heterogeneous laboratory data into a machine-readable knowledge base—a fundamental prerequisite for the use of artificial intelligence in materials science.
