Description
Modular course consisting of 7 sessions totaling 11 days
Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) form the backbone of a modern laboratory. LIMS manage clients, projects, orders, and samples; collect and archive measurement results; generate reports and findings—and much more! Only the smooth operation of the LIMS and its continuous development ensure the laboratory’s efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
LIMS managers ensure this. Their responsibilities extend far beyond mere administrative duties. While LIMS administration is a technical and operational task, LIMS managers design, develop, optimize, and validate the laboratory’s entire IT infrastructure, including interfaces with other systems, suppliers, and customers. They digitize processes, lead projects, manage budgets, and oversee schedules. They serve as the bridge between users and IT specialists and speak both languages.
Specialists with laboratory experience and prior IT knowledge are ideally suited to advance to the position of LIMS Officer after appropriate training. This course provides the necessary qualification modules.
